Court Advocacy
In a partnership with the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA), the courts, and other criminal justice and social service agencies, our SAFEPLAN program provides court advocacy and safety planning for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Court advocates accompany survivors in the court room, help survivors understand their legal rights, do risk assessments, create safety plans, explain the court process, and help survivors complete restraining orders or other court paperwork.
This project is supported by MOVA through SAFEPLAN funds from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and/or state investments, and/or a Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA) grant from the Office for Victims of Crime, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice.
