TWC established the Family Fund several years ago to help with emergency needs and unexpected expenses. Gift cards for supermarkets and other stores are purchased for food and clothing. Unexpected, unbudgeted expenses, such as fees for certification tests, have also been paid through the Family Fund. All donations help victims of violence, abuse and trauma as they work toward a new life free from violence.

If you're wondering what you, your church or school group could do for victims of domestic violence, please consider collecting items for families transitioning into an apartment from shelter. Adopt a Family.
The Women's Center has three shelters, 16 scattered site apartments for women and children, and a large number of community clients who come to TWC for individual and group counseling. Most of our families are struggling just to make ends meet. We need people to adopt families in our residential programs for the Holidays.

Donate to the Holiday Shop.
There is also a need for new toys, gifts, books, games, and clothing for women, children and youth to stock our Holiday Shop, which is open for our community clients to "shop" (free of charge) from December 12-23. All items must be new, unwrapped and delivered to the TWC business office, 405 County Street, New Bedford, MA. Donate Gift Cards.
Gift Cards for $25 or $50 are always the right size! Cards for supermarkets, Walmart, Target, Old Navy, or other stores are greatly appreciated all year long. Pick up one the next time you go shopping and mail it to TWC for emergency food and clothing needs.
